Features
PocketShopper is not only a convenient shopping aid, but also simplifies the labelling of products at home with its versatile additional functions.
Cordless and mobile
The barcode scanner is connected to the mobile phone via a Bluetooth wireless connection. Just launch the PocketShopper software on your mobile phone and the scanner will automatically connect to your mobile.
Easy barcode localisation
Every product sold in stores has a barcode. The scanner searches automatically for the barcode on these products. Simply hold down the scan button, and run the scanner over each side the product from a distance of about 20 cm. As soon as the scanner detects a barcode you hear a beep and the product information is displayed and read out on your mobile phone.
Shopping list
Everyone forgets things now and then. However, it is annoying to notice at home that you have forgotten the most important item on your shopping list. You can easily avoid with this by using PocketShopper’s convenient shopping list: just scan the product’s barcode and add the article to the shopping list. PocketShopper will read out the list for you at the supermarket. As soon as you find the product and put it into your shopping basket, you can check it off. Then you can let PocketShopper read out the shopping list without the checked off items and you will know instantly which articles you still need.
Voice recording
Would you like to add some comments to unknown articles or complete the product information with your own notes? You don’t have to use the keyboard for that. Simply use the voice record function to record a new description, which will be played back when you scan the product again.
Additional barcodes
For the labelling of items without barcodes in your household, self adhesive barcodes are included with PocketShopper. It is possible to label the codes by voice recording or by typing text with your mobile’s keyboard. The adhesive labels are very useful for blind and visually impaired people looking for an alternative to Braille labels.
Clear and distinct voice output
The product name and additional information (brand, size or weight) are read out through the speaker of your mobile phone or the headphones. PocketShopper uses a screen reading software (e.g. TALKS) to read out the screen content of your mobile phone. You can adjust the speaker, speed and pitch to suit your preferences. The product information can also be displayed on a connected braille display.
Large choice of phone models
Taste and preferences differ. Therefore you should be able to use the type of phone you are most familiar with. PocketShopper supports many current Nokia mobile phones. The software is continuously enhanced to support further models to offer you a great variety of mobile phones. Please visit our website for a complete list of supported phones.
